"Separated by war, united by music"
MIMMA
is a musical show that tells the story of Mimma and the family she left in Italy, set in London and Turin during the Second World War.
A perfect combination of operatic music, Jazz and Swing.
The orchestra is conducted by Richard Balcombe who captures the epic and romanticism sought by composer Ron Siemiginowski. It features an international cast including Kelly Mathieson as Mimma, Louise Dearman as Sarah, Elena Xanthoudakis as Mimma's mother, Graham Bickley as Lorenzo, Ashley Riches as Aldo and Steven Serlin as Jacob Katz, among others.
Synopsis
Mimma, a young Italian journalist, is forced to take refuge in her uncle Lorenzo's London bar. The shadow of fascism has pushed him to leave his family, involved in the resistance against Mussolini.
Mimma forges a great friendship with Sarah, an aspiring jazz singer in an England increasingly at odds with Italy. Mimma is in danger of losing absolutely everything. Everything, except one friend she can trust.
Composer
Ronald Siemiginowski is the composer who wrote the musical based on testimonies that he collected and family experiences converted into an emotional and moving theatrical story.
